PRIVACY POLICY
Network Residency
While encompassed within our Network, your acceptance of this policy is stored in your browser's local storage (like a cookie), so you won't be asked again on this device or browser. Your guest saves also stay in local storage on your device.
Entity Disclosure
EXECUTING: DART Meadow LLC. | Radical Deepscale LLC. The game's online services are part of the LEATR framework operated from the DART Meadow network.
Playing as a Guest
- No account and no personal information. You get a random pilot name (
Guest-XXXX). - Your saves stay on your device. Use Save / Export / Import to keep or move them.
- Guests can play Story or join Multiplayer.
Signing in with GitHub
- Sign-in uses GitHub's own sign-in page. After you approve, GitHub sends a one-time code back through leatr.xyz (the LEATR site, which only forwards it to this game), and our Google Apps Script bridge trades it for your access token. A type-in code on github.com/login/device is offered as a fallback. GitHub asks you to approve access to your public profile and your repositories (scopes
read:userandrepo), which the game needs to create and use your private save repository. - The access token GitHub issues is kept only in your browser's local storage. The game uses it from your browser to talk to GitHub on your behalf. DART Meadow does not keep a copy.
- The game creates a private repository in your own GitHub account named
jots-<your GitHub username>. It holds your saves (saves/), a small pilot profile (profile.json) and, if you play Multiplayer, your chat log (chat/). It belongs to you. You can read, download or delete it at any time on GitHub. - Signing out removes the token from this browser. You can also revoke the app's access from your GitHub settings under Applications.
Multiplayer
- In Multiplayer everyone online shares one world. Other players see your pilot name (your GitHub username if you're signed in, otherwise your guest name), your board colour, your character, where you are in the game world, and anything you type in chat.
- These live updates travel through the LEATR node bus, DART Meadow's own Google Apps Script bridge (the same one the Autumn apps use for their live scene). Each update is held there for about 30 seconds so other players can pick it up, then it expires. Anyone playing Multiplayer can see what you send, so never share personal details in chat.
- DART Meadow does not keep a record of multiplayer positions or chat. The bridge may occasionally keep a single copy of your latest update (random session number, pilot name, board colour and position) in the private LEATR repository as a backup for when its short-term cache is cold. If you're signed in, your own session's chat is saved to your private
jots-repository. - Story mode sends nothing about you to other players.
- While you play (Story or Multiplayer), the game sends a small "a pilot is online" heartbeat through the LEATR node bus every 15 seconds. It carries only a random session number and your mode, so dartmeadow.com's Session Cube can show how many gamers are online. In Multiplayer your multiplayer update is the heartbeat, so it also carries your pilot name.
Player Safety
- Chat filter: swear words and slurs are masked in chat, pilot names and shared markers, both in what you send and what you see. It runs in your game; nothing is sent anywhere to check it.
- Block: tap a chat message, a name tag or a friend and choose Block. You stop seeing that player's chat, name tag, board, friend requests and shared markers. Your block list stays on your device and, if you're signed in with GitHub, in
blocks.jsonin your privatejots-repository. Unblock any time in Profile › Safety. - Report: tap a chat message, a name tag or Report in the chat panel or Profile › Safety. The report opens in your email app addressed to dartmeadow@gmail.com, with the player's name, the message and the reason filled in, so you see exactly what is sent. We read every report.
- Contact: dartmeadow@gmail.com.
Deleting Your Account
- In the game: Profile › Safety › Delete account (or Delete account in the account window), then type DELETE.
- Signed in with GitHub: the game erases everything in your
jots-repository (saves, journeys, friends, journal, block list, themes, settings, chat logs and screenshots) and replaces its history with a single note, signs you out and forgets its access token. Your GitHub account itself is not deleted. The game can't withdraw its own GitHub authorization, so it links you to GitHub › Settings › Applications to revoke it, and to the repository's settings if you want to delete the empty repository too. - Signed in with Apple (iOS app): the app revokes DART Meadow's Sign in with Apple link. Your Apple Account is not deleted.
- Friends who are online are told to remove you. Everything stored on the device (saves, journal, settings, sign-in, caches) is cleared.
Anonymous Gameplay Analytics
To keep the LEATR network and its Session Cubes alive, the game records anonymous gameplay events for everyone who agrees to this policy. That covers things like "launched", "landed on a planet", "travelled to a galaxy", "visited a black hole", "found an asteroid" and "players online". Each event is a category, a short label, an optional coarse detail (a place name or a count) and a timestamp.
These events never include your name, account, IP address, chat, device details or exact position. They are stored with LEATR's live analytics and shown as the walked paths of the Session Cubes on dartmeadow.com, in the Autumn apps and above the Bird Temple in this game.
Services We Use
- GitHub: sign-in and your private save repository.
- Google Apps Script: the LEATR bridge for sign-in, multiplayer, the online heartbeat and anonymous analytics.
- jsDelivr and Google Fonts: code libraries and fonts.
- Stripe: only if you choose to support development. Payments are processed by Stripe, and DART Meadow never sees your card details.
